Career Life Connections & Capstone 12

Career Life Connections 12 (CLC 12)  is a required course for graduation that grade 12 students enroll. The course has an online format where assignments and explanations are posted to a Google Classroom.  Information sessions take place throughout the year to allow students to talk to CLC 12 teachers face-to-face.

In CLC 12, students complete a Capstone Project. This process of learning culminates with a gallery style showcase event for students to present their Capstone Project to an audience that may be composed of peers, school staff or members of the community. Completing the Capstone Project requires students to research their topic as well as undertake an experiential component. Furthermore, students need to use their networking skills to set up interactions with a mentor who can provide guidance.

In addition to the Capstone Project, students are also required to complete 30 hours of volunteer/work experience in the community.  Opportunities to support this requirement are posted throughout the school year.
